Yesterday I had the privilege of speaking with 150 engaged, eager, talented students as a part of the A1 Conference. I gave an Understudy 101 talk and it felt so wonderful to share my experience and knowledge with so many rising stars. Being an understudy is one of the hardest jobs on broadway, but with these tips in mind, it can also be the most fun and rewarding experience you will ever have!
Keep your eyes & ears & brain open
Always be ready
It will never be perfect
Be humble
There is so much to share about being an understudy and I could tell stories for hours about what I’ve seen and things I’ve messed up and lessons I’ve learned, but that’s for another time!
